About the project

Anantara Dragon Seseh Bali Resort & Residences is a beachfront resort with residences for sale on Seseh Beach, Bali, developed and owned by Taryan Group. British architect John Dawes shaped the building as a dragon and designed the homes inside it as cocoons. Minor Hotels will operate the property under the Anantara Hotels & Resorts brand, and the residences are sold only through Taryan Group. Completion is planned for Q4 2028.

The cocoon residences

The resort has 235 cocoons in total. The ones now on sale are studios of 52 to 70 m² and one-bedroom residences of 75 to 160 m². Depending on the unit, the windows look out to the ocean, along the coast or over the jungle. Taryan Group describes each cocoon as a private refuge, and the interiors use local materials and artisan detail. Arrival is through a stone reception with floors patterned like dragon scales and a fountain where fire and water meet.

Resort facilities

There are three infinity pools, an all-day dining restaurant with 280 seats, a Japanese restaurant with 180 seats, two bars and a beach lounge. The 700 m² wellness and spa centre has a hammam, a Finnish sauna, a Roman steam room, salt and snow rooms and Japanese baths. A 300 m² fitness and yoga area sits alongside a yoga and meditation space on the beach. The resort also has its own surf school, conference and coworking rooms, shops, underground parking and a private helipad. Hotel services named by the developer include a 24-hour reception and daily housekeeping.

Location and payment plan

Taryan Group calls Seseh the quieter neighbour of Canggu. The resort sits directly on the beach's volcanic sand, which the developer puts 15 minutes from Canggu and an hour from Denpasar Airport. The payment plan is 30% on booking and 70% during construction.

The developer

Taryan Group
A Kyiv developer with three world titles for design, now building on Seseh Beach
Taryan Group was founded in Kyiv in 2011 by Artur Mkhitaryan, who still runs it. At home it built Taryan Towers, a residential high-rise in Pechersk, and Nver, a mixed-use project on Lesia Ukrainka Boulevard, and both were named Best in the World at the International Property Awards. Bali is the company's first project outside Ukraine. Anantara Dragon Seseh Bali Resort & Residences stands on the black sand of Seseh Beach, drawn by British architect John Dawes in the shape of a dragon, and Minor Hotels will run it under the Anantara brand. The residences inside the resort are sold through Taryan Group.

About Seseh

A fishing hamlet with a long black sand beach, a few kilometres past Pererenan.

Seseh is a hamlet of Cemagi village, in the Mengwi district of Badung, and the first stretch of quiet coast you reach driving west from Canggu through Pererenan and Munggu. Its beach is long, wide and black, with painted jukung fishing boats pulled up under the palms and warungs selling coconuts and nasi goreng to the people who come for the sunset. Behind the beach there are rice fields, coconut groves and family temples, and the processions that go with them often pass through the lanes. The surf is strong and the reef sits close in, so the sea here belongs to surfers rather than swimmers. Seseh has a few villas, small hotels and a yoga retreat, and a large resort is now going up on the beachfront: Anantara Dragon Seseh Bali Resort & Residences, which will be run by Minor Hotels. Canggu's cafés and shops are about 15 minutes away. Foreigners hold property here on a lease or under Hak Pakai (right to use); freehold title in Indonesia is for its citizens only.
