Big Waves builds with an operator in mind from the start, and its biggest project shows what that brings. The Lux Collective, which runs hotels across the Indian Ocean and Asia, signed a management agreement for Salt of Virgin Beach and chose it as the group's first hotel in Indonesia. The project has also won two Asia Pacific Property Awards in Indonesia, one for new hotel construction and design and one for multiple-residence architecture.

Two long buildings with curved, wave-shaped roofs on Virgin Beach in Karangasem, a white-sand beach on Bali's east coast, with 84 rooms looking out to the Indian Ocean and Mount Agung. The sand is about twenty steps from the complex. Inside the complex: two restaurants, a rooftop for events, a rooftop cinema, a spa with an anti-age menu, a large pool with a separate children's area, a two-level playroom, a yoga terrace, a sports hub and a diving centre of its own. The hotel will open under SALT, The Lux Collective's brand, and is run on sustainable lines: no plastic, separated waste, sulfate-free products, furniture from recycled materials and a coral reef restoration programme.
