The success of Palm Jumeirah led to the creation of more extraordinary island developments.
Following its completion in late 2002, work began on another project—Palm Jebel Ali.
The initial completion was set for 2008, but economic changes caused an unavoidable delay.
Palm Jebel Ali will be over twice the size of Palm Jumeirah and more architecturally complex.
Its design includes fewer fronds, but enhanced infrastructure and a greater variety of facilities.
The island is located near the boundary between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The plan includes 1,000 beachfront bungalows designed in various unique architectural styles.
In addition, 2,000 diverse villas will be developed across the shoreline and central areas.
Special high-end projects will be created on the island for wealthy clients seeking exclusivity.
