Small villa resorts in Ubud, built around rest and wellness

SPG

SPG is a Bali developer that has been building on the island since 2017, trading through its Indonesian company PT Samolet Property Group. Its founder's team made its name with unusual places to stay: Bubble Hotel Bali, a glamping hotel of transparent domes, Private Jet Villa, a villa built into a retired Boeing 737 on a clifftop, and Green Flow villas in Ubud. SPG has delivered more than 150 properties. Its two current projects are both in Ubud: AURA Wellness Resort, 57 private villas among rice terraces with a spa and more than 25 wellness practices, and Hey, YOLO, one-bedroom pool villas in Japanese style in the quiet centre of town.

THE TRACK RECORD

SPG's record.

SPG builds small resorts rather than large estates, and it plans each one around a single idea that a guest can feel: wellness at AURA, Japanese calm at Hey, YOLO. It also brings in specialists to run them. At AURA the hospitality operator OXO will manage the villas and the wellness brand Pramas runs the programmes; at Hey, YOLO the developer's own company, PT Island Asset Management, will manage the complex. Buyers and partners get photos and video from the building site every month.

Delivery record

The completed projects are hospitality places with a strong idea behind each: Bubble Hotel Bali, glamping in transparent domes, Private Jet Villa, a two-bedroom villa made from a Boeing 737 on the cliffs of the Bukit peninsula, and Green Flow, pool villas in Ubud. In 2026 SPG received building permits for both of its Ubud resorts: Hey, YOLO, where the villas already have their frames and the first roofs, and AURA Wellness Resort, where the foundation works began in September.

Signature style

Each project has its own look: soft cream, sand and wood interiors with a wellness theme at AURA, Japanese minimalism in wood, stone and architectural concrete at Hey, YOLO. What stays the same is the scale, a few dozen villas on a green plot, and the idea that the villas are run as a resort once they are built.

THE HONEST VIEW

Strengths & considerations.

Where SPG shines
  • A team with completed hospitality projects in Bali that guests already know.
  • Small, focused resorts with a clear concept rather than large estates.
  • Building permits (PBG) issued for both current projects in 2026.
  • Professional operators lined up: OXO at AURA, the developer's own management company at Hey, YOLO.
  • Photos and video from the building site every month.
Worth considering
  • Both current projects are still under construction, so buyers pay during the build and should follow the monthly updates from the site.
  • Bali property is sold to foreigners on leasehold; read the lease term and its extension terms in the contract and have it checked by an independent notary.
  • Ubud is an inland town: the beaches and the airport are a drive away.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions about SPG.

Who is SPG?+

A Bali developer working on the island since 2017 through its Indonesian company PT Samolet Property Group. Its founder's team built Bubble Hotel Bali, Private Jet Villa and Green Flow, and SPG has delivered more than 150 properties.

What is SPG building in Bali now?+

Two villa resorts in Ubud: AURA Wellness Resort, 57 private villas among rice terraces built around wellness, and Hey, YOLO, furnished one-bedroom pool villas in Japanese style in the quiet centre of town.

Do SPG's projects have building permits?+

Yes. Both current projects received their building permits (PBG) in 2026: Hey, YOLO in July and AURA Wellness Resort, whose permit number is SK-PBG-510405-07042026-004.

Who will manage the villas after completion?+

At AURA Wellness Resort the villas will be managed by the hospitality operator OXO, with wellness programmes run by Pramas. At Hey, YOLO the developer's company PT Island Asset Management will manage the complex.

How does a foreign buyer own an SPG villa?+

Through a leasehold. At AURA Wellness Resort the lease runs for 33 years, paid in full, with a further 30-year extension. A foreigner cannot hold freehold land in Indonesia (Hak Milik), so check the lease and its extension terms with an independent notary before signing.

Where are SPG's projects?+

Both current projects are in Ubud, the town in the hills of central Bali known for its rice terraces, temples and yoga studios. The earlier Private Jet Villa stands on the cliffs of the Bukit peninsula in the south.
